Stellendam, 26-3-2015, After the succesful inaugural event last year in Holland, the 2nd Hobie Fishing European Championship powered by Lowrance & GoFree will be held in France. The tournament will take place in the waters of Lac de Lacanau, a well known freshwater lake, located 45 min west of Bordeaux in the province Médoc. The lake is popular among local anglers for it’s high quality predatory fish, and stretches over 1985 hectares. From September 11th till September 13th the lake will be acting as the official tournament arena.
The second edition of The Hobie Fishing European Championship powered by Lowrance & Gofree will bring together Europe’s best kayak fishermen to compete for the chance to be crowned as the 2nd European Champion. The angler with the most aggregate length over a duration of two competition days will win the tournament.
All contestants will fish from their own Hobie Mirage Kayaks in the hunt for Pike, Perch and Zander in a Catch, Photograph and Release format. The Entry Fee for this three day event is 100 EUR.
Together with winning the European Championship title, the winner also directly qualifies for the Hobie Fishing Worlds 2015 in China. Besides that there are numerous other prizes to collect. A prize will be rewarded for the biggest fish caught, the best rigged Hobie Kayak and for the longest distance a competitor has travelled to the event site.
