CHALMETTE, La. (October 30, 2012) --- Inshore anglers from Texas to the Carolinas will take to the coastal waters near Chalmette, La., November 2-3 as the IFA Kayak Fishing Tour Presented by Hobie Fishing stages its two-day championship event.
The event will begin Thursday, November 1 with registration at the Grand Ballroom of the Frederick J. Sigur Civic Center (8245 West Judge Perez Drive, Chalmette, LA 70043) from 5-7 p.m. with the captains meeting to follow. Anglers will then be assigned check-in times and will launch from the location of their choice on both days of competition.
The host venue and weigh-in location will be Gulf Outlet Marina (255 Marina Road, Chalmette, LA 70043).
The IFA Kayak Fishing Tour continues to draw participants from Texas to the Carolinas and beyond, offering inshore kayak anglers the opportunity to compete in six different divisions, each offering a three-event regular season. Low entry fees for the one-day, regular-season tournaments allows anglers to fish close to home and minimize expenses, while still being a part of a premier inshore, catch-photograph-and-release inshore kayak-fishing tournament organization. Anglers fishing any three of the IFA’s 18 regular-season events are automatically qualified for a no-entry-fee championship event, pitting qualifiers from each of the six divisions for money and prize packages, as well as a shot at the coveted Overall Angler of the Year Award, contested between the six regular-season division winners.
