After some very motivating results at the end of last year’s season, I took some rest during the winter to prepare the 2016 season the best way possible. My main goals were to place in the top ten for the EURO TOUR rankings and to crack the top twenty on the world rankings. These goals were very important for me as it drove my determination and focus when I was training this winter.

I am originally a free surfer, so I didn’t really have a complete training program before. I used to just go paddle or surf and see what happens. But this winter, with my coach Vincent Guillaume, I took things a little bit more seriously, training four or more times a week between my school classes. I also worked on my nutrition, eating only healthy food, which made a quite big difference with how I used to manage my life, but it was really worth it.

I had the perfect season’s start, winning almost every race and surf contest I entered in Brittany, then I started to travel to compete on the international scene. Some good results in the USA in April and a victory in Brazil brought me confidence to start my European journey. I traveled across Europe with my American team mates Lexi Alston and April Zilg most of the time and we experienced an amazing trip.

I’m very happy with how the results went for me on the EURO TOUR. I was able to secure a few good results on the biggest races of the tour, which got me 8th on the EURO TOUR Rankings. These results also improved my world ranking, making it to the 20th place for the first time of my career.
